Description

This ham and cheese puff pastry is a delicious snack or light meal with a flaky, golden crust and melty cheese inside.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 4 ounces of sliced ham
  • 4 ounces of cheese (such as Swiss or cheddar)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lightly flour your work surface and thaw the puff pastry if frozen, keeping it cool but pliable.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry to smooth any seams and cut into squares or rectangles. Place a slice of ham and cheese on each piece, seasoning with salt and pepper if desired.
  4. Fold the pastry over, seal the edges with a fork, and brush with beaten egg.
  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving and enjoy warm.

Notes

Keep pastry cold for best puffing. You can also customize with different cheese and fillings.
