- 1 cup black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1/2 cup peanut butter or almond butter
- 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or line with parchment paper.
- In a food processor, blend the black beans until smooth. Add the nut butter, honey or maple syrup, cocoa powder, baking powder, vanilla, and salt. Blend until glossy.
- Stir in chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is set and a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Allow to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Adjust sweetness by tasting the batter before baking. For nut allergies, substitute sunflower seed butter. These brownies are best served at room temperature or slightly chilled.
