Description

Crispy fries piled with savory, spicy, and creamy toppings for a filling, shareable meal, packed with protein from beef and beans.

Ingredients

  • Frozen French fries
  • Ground beef or turkey
  • Black beans
  • Cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • Sour cream
  • Guacamole
  • Jalapeños (sliced)
  • Chopped tomatoes
  • Green onions (sliced)
  • Taco seasoning

Instructions

  1. Cook the frozen French fries according to package instructions until crispy. While the fries cook, chop tomatoes and green onions and slice jalapeños. Open and drain the black beans. Have sour cream and guacamole ready to spoon. Preheat the oven broiler if needed.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or turkey. Add taco seasoning and a splash of water until evenly coated and fragrant.
  3. Warm the drained black beans in a small pot over low heat. Once the fries are cooked, layer them with the meat, then warm black beans, followed by shredded cheddar and broil until cheese melts.
  4. Dollop sour cream and spoon guacamole over the hot fries. Scatter sliced jalapeños, chopped tomatoes, and green onions on top. Serve warm.

Notes

For a lighter version, swap ground meat for lentils or use air-fried sweet potato fries.
