Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Toppings of your choice (e.g., pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, olives)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). Punch down the risen dough gently and press it onto a greased baking sheet or pizza stone.
  6. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and your chosen toppings on top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden-brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  8. Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, then slice into squares and serve hot.
