- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Toppings of your choice (e.g., pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, olives)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). Punch down the risen dough gently and press it onto a greased baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and your chosen toppings on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden-brown and the cheese is bubbling.
- Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, then slice into squares and serve hot.
