- 1 pizza dough
- 8 oz hot Italian sausage, crumbled
- 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Lightly flour a surface and roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness. Transfer the dough to a pizza stone or a baking sheet brushed with olive oil.
- Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the stretched dough, leaving a small rim for the crust.
- Cook the crumbled hot Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat and sprinkle the sausage evenly over the sauce. Scatter crumbled feta and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Drizzle honey over the top and sprinkle with crushed red pepper flakes if desired. Bake for 12–15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese bubbles. Remove and let cool for 3–5 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil before slicing.
Notes
For a crispy crust, preheat a pizza stone or heavy baking sheet and drain sausages well before adding. Serve warm with extra honey and red pepper flakes.
