Description
A delightful twist on classic appetizers, combining jalapeños with creamy cheese in crispy onion rings.
Ingredients
- Onion rings
- Jalapeños
- Cream cheese
- Cheddar cheese
- Breadcrumbs
- Flour
- Egg
- Seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic powder)
- Oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Preheat oil for frying in a deep pan until it’s hot enough for frying.
- Carefully separate the onion rings into individual rings. In a bowl, mix together cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, diced jalapeños, and seasoning until smooth.
- Stuff each onion ring with the creamy cheese mixture, ensuring each ring is generously filled.
- Set up a breading station with flour, a beaten egg, and breadcrumbs. Dredge each stuffed onion ring first in flour, dip it in the egg, and finally coat it in breadcrumbs.
- Carefully place the breaded rings into the hot oil, frying until golden brown (about 3-4 minutes).
- Once fried, drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil, then serve hot.
Notes
Serve with dipping sauces like ranch, blue cheese, or spicy salsa. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
