Description

These juicy chicken dumplings are filled with tender ground chicken, green onions, and shredded carrots, all wrapped in a delicate dumpling skin and served with a creamy tahini lime sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup dumpling wrappers (about 18–24, depending on size)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the Tahini Lime Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Water (to thin)
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground chicken, chopped green onions, shredded carrots, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until evenly combined. Refrigerate for 10 minutes if the mixture feels too soft.
  2. Place a small spoonful of the mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper. Moisten the wrapper edge with water, fold over, and press to seal tightly. Crimp or pleat the edge if desired.
  3. Steam dumplings in a steamer basket over boiling water for 10–12 minutes until the filling reaches 165°F (74°C) and the wrapper becomes translucent and tender.
  4. For the sauce, whisk together tahini, lime juice, and honey. Gradually add water until you reach a smooth, pourable consistency. Season with salt to taste. Serve dumplings hot with the sauce on the side.

Notes

Serve the dumplings garnished with extra chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds. They can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for longer storage.
