Description
A gooey, crunchy, and savory crossover that combines creamy mac and cheese with a juicy beef patty, tucked into a soft bun for the ultimate comfort food experience.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 oz macaroni
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- Burger buns
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles
Instructions
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until tender, then drain well.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, add milk, and bring to a simmer. Stir in cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Toss in the drained macaroni and let cool slightly.
- Form seasoned ground beef into four patties with a slight indentation in the center. Cook patties in a skillet or grill over medium-high heat for about 4–5 minutes per side until desired doneness.
- Top each patty with a scoop of mac and cheese, cover briefly to melt further, then place on a bun with optional toppings and serve immediately.
Notes
Chill the mac slightly before topping to help it stay on the burger. Toasting the buns adds crunch and helps avoid sogginess.
