Description

Warm, buttery waffles with a soft, tangy center from cream cheese, complemented by crunchy toasted pecans and a drizzle of maple syrup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions and lightly grease if necessary.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just blended.
  4. Fold in cream cheese and chopped pecans until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until golden brown and slightly crisp, usually 3-5 minutes.
  6. Serve warm with maple syrup drizzled over the top and any additional toppings you like.

Notes

For extra crispness, finish waffles in a 375°F oven for 3-5 minutes after removing from the iron.
