- 1/2 cup water
- 2 cups pitted plums, chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- A pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then bring to a gentle boil.
- Add the chopped plums, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and lemon juice to the syrup. Stir to combine so the plums are coated.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for about 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the plums are soft and the mixture thickens into a glossy syrup.
