  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, until smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. Check doneness with a toothpick.
  7. Cool the cake in the pan for a few minutes before removing and letting it cool completely on a wire rack.
