Description

A fast, flavorful weeknight dish with sweet soy sauce, ginger, and garlic, perfect for busy nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger. Slice the green onions.
  2. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking apart as it cooks, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if desired.
  3. Stir in garlic and ginger, cooking for another minute. Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil in a bowl and pour over browned beef. Stir to combine and let it simmer.
  4. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef. Stir in sliced green onions before serving. Serve hot over cooked rice.

Notes

Serve this over steamed rice or with sides of steamed veggies. For meal prep, store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
