Description

Pecan pie bars bring the classic flavors of a traditional pecan pie into a portable and easy-to-eat form with a buttery crust and a gooey, nutty filling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 3/4 cup corn syrup
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking dish to prevent the bars from sticking.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, softened butter, brown sugar, and salt. Mix until it forms a crumbly dough. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of the greased baking dish to create an even crust.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together corn syrup, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Stir in the chopped pecans, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  4. Pour the pecan mixture over the prepared crust in the baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly puffed. Let it cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.

Notes

Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. For added flair, drizzle caramel sauce over the bars before serving.
