Description
Pecan pie bars bring the classic flavors of a traditional pecan pie into a portable and easy-to-eat form with a buttery crust and a gooey, nutty filling.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 3/4 cup corn syrup
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking dish to prevent the bars from sticking.
- In a bowl, combine flour, softened butter, brown sugar, and salt. Mix until it forms a crumbly dough. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of the greased baking dish to create an even crust.
- In another bowl, whisk together corn syrup, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Stir in the chopped pecans, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
- Pour the pecan mixture over the prepared crust in the baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly puffed. Let it cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.
Notes
Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. For added flair, drizzle caramel sauce over the bars before serving.
