- 1 loaf of bread (such as challah or brioche)
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups of milk
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1 cup of chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup of maple syrup
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Cut the bread into cubes and place them evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour this mixture over the bread cubes to ensure they are soaked evenly.
- Sprinkle the chopped pecans on top and drizzle with maple syrup.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving, warm with additional maple syrup if desired.
