- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 1 egg (beaten)
- Flour for dusting
- Your choice of filling (pesto, cheese, chocolate)
- Sesame or poppy seeds (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and thaw the puff pastry according to package instructions.
- Roll out the puff pastry to about 1/8 inch thick and cut into tree shapes.
- Place a spoonful of filling on half of the cutouts and top with the other half, creating little pastries.
- Brush the edges with beaten egg to seal, sprinkle with seeds if desired, and brush the tops with egg wash.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For best results, chill the assembled pastries for 15 minutes before baking.
