Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl and stir in the melted butter until combined.
  3. Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and flour. Gradually mix into the banana mixture until just combined.
  5. If desired, fold in chopped nuts or chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool before frosting.
