Description
Crunchy, cheesy, and addictive, these Rice Krispie Cheddar Crackers are a delightful twist on a classic snack, perfect for parties or lunchboxes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups Rice Krispies
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Measure and melt the butter, and gather the Rice Krispies, shredded cheddar, spices, and flour so everything is ready.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Stir until smooth. Add the Rice Krispies and shredded cheddar cheese, then mix to coat the cereal and distribute the cheese. Gradually add the flour and stir until a soft dough forms. If the dough feels too dry, add a small splash of milk; if too sticky, add a tablespoon more flour.
- Lightly flour a clean surface and roll the dough to about 1/4 inch thick. Use a cookie cutter or knife to cut into desired shapes. Place the cut crackers on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between pieces. Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the crackers feel set.
- Remove crackers from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Cooling helps them crisp up and develop the full crunch.
Notes
Store cooled crackers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4–5 days, or freeze for up to 1 month.
