Description

A delightful blend of sweet and salty with a rich, chewy texture, these blondies feature a delicious combination of salted caramel and pretzels.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups pretzel pieces
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
  • Flaky sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the pretzel pieces gently.
  4. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, drizzle half of the salted caramel sauce, and then spread the remaining batter on top. Swirl in the rest of the caramel sauce. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
  5. Allow to cool, then sprinkle flaky sea salt on top before cutting into bars.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider adding chopped nuts or doubling the salted caramel sauce. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
