Description
A quick and satisfying weeknight dinner featuring tender chicken and crisp broccoli in a savory sesame sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- Cooked rice for serving
Instructions
- Pat the chicken dry and cut it into bite-sized pieces. Trim the broccoli into florets. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger. Measure soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil, and have cooked rice ready to serve.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce and honey until smooth to make a simple glaze that will coat the chicken and broccoli.
- In a large pan, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through (about 6–8 minutes). Add the minced garlic and grated ginger and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant. Add the broccoli and stir-fry for about 5 minutes until it is bright green and tender-crisp.
- Pour the soy sauce and honey mixture over the chicken and broccoli. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring so the sauce thickens slightly and coats everything. Sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving. Serve the sesame chicken and broccoli over cooked rice.
