A delightful takeout-inspired dish bringing together tender chicken, colorful vegetables, and savory lo mein noodles in a fragrant sesame garlic sauce.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz lo mein noodles
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 pound chicken breast, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 carrots, julienned
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the lo mein noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add broccoli, bell pepper, and carrots to the skillet, stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until tender but still crisp.
  5. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch with a little water until smooth. Pour over chicken and vegetables.
  6. Add cooked lo mein noodles, toss until well combined and heated through.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate chicken in soy sauce and sesame oil before cooking. Substitute vegetables as preferred.
