- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.
- Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and chopped bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté for about 3-5 minutes until softened and translucent.
- Add the ground beef (or turkey), breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned and fully cooked.
- Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well and add the diced tomatoes and beans. Stir until well mixed and let simmer for 15-20 minutes.
