Description

Delightful warm and salty soft pretzel bites, perfect for dipping and sharing at any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • Coarse sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture and knead until smooth.
  3. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. In a large pot, bring about 10 cups of water to a rolling boil and add baking soda.
  6. Divide the dough into bite-sized pieces. Boil each piece for about 30 seconds and then remove with a slotted spoon.
  7. Place the boiled pretzel bites on the prepared baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and sprinkle with coarse salt.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with mustard, cheese sauce, or sweet dips like chocolate sauce.
