Ingredients
Scale
- 4 pieces of chicken
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
- In a bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and dredge each piece in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess flour.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken in batches for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the chicken and drain on paper towels. Serve hot for the best flavor.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding cayenne pepper to the flour mixture. Double-dip the chicken for a thicker crust.
