Description

A classic Southern Fried Chicken recipe that is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pieces of chicken
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. In a bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and dredge each piece in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess flour.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken in batches for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Remove the chicken and drain on paper towels. Serve hot for the best flavor.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding cayenne pepper to the flour mixture. Double-dip the chicken for a thicker crust.
