- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg

Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, spices, and salt until evenly combined.
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat the egg and vanilla into the butter-sugar mixture, then gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned around the edges.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
