  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup diced strawberries
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Gradually combine the wet mixture with the dry ingredients without overmixing.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F and fry spoonfuls of batter until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  5. Cool fried donuts on a wire rack.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, lemon juice, and diced strawberries until smooth.
  7. Fill cooled donuts with the strawberry cheesecake mixture using a piping bag.
  8. Dust donuts lightly with powdered sugar before serving.
