Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries (sliced)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract.
  3. On a floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry and cut it into 4-inch squares.
  4. Place a spoonful of the strawberry mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  5. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to create a pocket, pinching the edges to seal.
  6. Arrange the sealed pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush with beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon over the filling or add lemon zest. Ensure puff pastry is chilled before use.
