- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry and cut it into strips about 1 inch wide. In a bowl, mix strawberries, sugar, and vanilla.
- Take a small amount of the strawberry mixture and place it at one end of each pastry strip. Fold the strip over the filling and twist to create a spiral shape.
- Place the twisted pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with the beaten egg and bake for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown and flaky. Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar.
Notes
For best results, use chilled puff pastry. Experiment with fruits like blueberries or raspberries.
