Chewy bars packed with colorful Valentine-themed M&Ms, perfect for celebrations and school treats.
Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup Valentine-themed M&M candies
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the M&Ms and chocolate chips if using. Reserve a small handful of M&Ms for topping.
- Spread the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle the reserved M&Ms on top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, until lightly golden and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
- Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally dusted with powdered sugar.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to 1 week. They can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
