Description

A delightful appetizer featuring fresh tomatoes, aromatic herbs, and crunchy bread, perfect for gatherings or a cozy night in.

Ingredients

  • Baguette or Italian bread
  • Fresh tomatoes
  • Garlic
  • Fresh basil
  • Olive oil
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Dice the tomatoes and place them in a bowl. Mince the garlic and add it to the tomatoes. Chop the basil and mix it in.
  3. Drizzle the mixture with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, then season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch slices and toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes until golden.
  5. Top each slice of toasted bread with the tomato mixture and serve immediately.

Notes

Best served immediately. Store leftover tomato mixture in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, but keep the bread separate to avoid sogginess.
