- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 egg

- 1/2 cup crushed candy canes or sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and smooth. Add egg and vanilla extract; mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
- Roll dough into long strips about 1/2 inch thick and twist pairs together. Shape as desired, then sprinkle with candy canes or sprinkles.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool on a wire rack.

Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for longer storage. Use crushed candy canes for a festive touch.
