Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup cookie dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • Frosting of choice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture and carefully fold in chocolate chips and cookie dough.
  4. Divide the batter between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  5. Once cooled, frost each layer generously with your choice of frosting and decorate as desired.
