Description

A delightful twist on a classic dessert, combining warm, spiced apples with fluffy biscuit layers, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Slowly stir in the milk until just combined.
  2. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thickness. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out circular shapes.
  3. Mix the diced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice in another bowl. On a baking sheet, place half of the dough circles, spoon some of the apple mixture on top of each, and cover with another dough circle.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the tops are golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving and top with whipped cream if desired.

Notes

Use cold butter for flaky biscuits. Don’t over-mix the dough.
