- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a mixing bowl, combine sourdough starter, flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips carefully.
- Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the muffins to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

These muffins can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or frozen for up to 2 months.
