Description

Delightful crispy tacos filled with seasoned chicken and melted cheese, perfect for taco night or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound chicken breast, cooked and shredded
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or pepper jack)
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  • Sour cream and salsa for serving
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat until it’s hot but not smoking. Test it by dropping a tiny piece of tortilla to see if it sizzles.
  2. In a bowl, mix the shredded chicken with the taco seasoning until well combined.
  3. Place some of the chicken mixture on each tortilla, sprinkle generously with cheese, and fold them in half.
  4. Fry each taco in the hot oil until crispy and golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from oil and let them drain on paper towels.

Notes

For best texture and flavor, use freshly cooked chicken or rotisserie chicken. Optional: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for a healthier option.
