- 2 chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2–3 jalapeños, sliced
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- Combine flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper in a shallow dish.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat, dredge chicken in flour mixture, and fry until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes per side.
- Add sliced jalapeños to fry during the last few minutes until crispy.
Notes
Serve hot with crispy jalapeños on top. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
