Ingredients

  • 500g bread flour
  • 350g water
  • 100g active sourdough starter
  • 10g salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the bread flour and water together until no dry flour remains.
  2. Add the sourdough starter and salt, and mix until combined.
  3. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let it rest for 12-16 hours at room temperature.
  4. After the resting period, turn the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a round loaf.
  5. Let it rest for another 30-60 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) with a Dutch oven inside.
  7. Once preheated, carefully place the dough into the hot Dutch oven, cover with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  9. Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
