Ingredients

  • 1 package (2 sheets) refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 cup fruit filling (such as apple, cherry, or blueberry)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (for sprinkling)
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out one pie crust and fit it into a pie pan.
  3. Add the fruit filling evenly over the crust.
  4. Roll out the second pie crust and cut it into strips. Place these over the filling.
  5. Beat the egg and brush it over the crust. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon if desired.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the pie is golden brown.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving.
