Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 package (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
Instructions
- Mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt together until evenly combined.
- Heat the milk and butter until warm (about 110°F or 43°C). Add the warm mixture to the dry ingredients along with the eggs and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Transfer to a greased bowl, cover, and refrigerate overnight.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread the butter, then sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, and raisins if using. Roll up tightly and cut into 12 equal rolls. Place in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Prepare the icing by mixing powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle over the warm rolls.
